About this place
Set beneath the elevated train tracks of JR Yurakucho Station, nomuno EXPRESS offers casual Italian dining centered around hearty fresh pasta and a self-serve wine lineup. The menu is built around fresh pasta from BIGOLI, a specialist in Bolognese. Substantial, toothsome strands of traditional thick pasta are tossed in an intensely savory, meat-forward sauce that stands distinctly apart from sweetened Japanese meat sauce.
A prime draw across the options is the generous shower of freshly shaved Grana Padano. Choices range from the Aged Cheese Bolognese, which highlights the richness of the base meat sauce, to the Kamakura Bolognese, mounded so high with pure white cheese that the pasta underneath is hidden from view. Other variations suit different palates, including a bright Tomato MAX with balanced acidity, an aromatic Truffle Cream seasoned with black pepper, and a Cajun-spiced Mexican Bolognese.
Another major draw is the self-serve, all-you-can-drink wine tasting offered in 30-minute blocks. Guests pour their own glasses directly from bottles of red, white, and sparkling wine, sampling at their own speed. Appetizers like pâté de campagne, chicken white liver paste, and fig butter are on hand alongside clever bar bites such as noodle-free Bolognese, and diners are also permitted to bring in outside food.
With its focus on standing space, the compact venue fits neatly into a quick solo lunch or an unhurried glass of wine on the way home from work.
